Call for Delegates

Each year, the House of Delegates sets the IMA's advocacy agenda through resolutions and reports. This meeting is a great way to interact and get to know your colleagues from around the state as well as represent your Ada and Elmore County in the House of Delegates on Friday and Sunday. As a delegate, you will help guide the future direction of your Idaho Medical Association's policy and legislative priorities. You can also earn AMA PRA Category I Credits™ at the scientific session on Saturday morning.

ACMS provides a stipend as an incentive to gather more delegates from ACMS' membership, any active ACMS physician member who attends the House of Delegate (even if you represent a specialty society or other delegate slot). The stipend is a total of $500 in recognition of your time out of office. You must be present both days in order to receive the full reimbursement.

Qualifications: active member physician residing within Ada/Elmore County and willing to attend the Friday and Sunday House of Delegates sessions.

ACMS will serve a breakfast and hold an open board meeting for its members on Sunday morning.

Register for the conference at Idaho Medical Association. For rooms at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, call 844-403-1920 and provide the room block code of IMA19 or reserve your rooms online at Idaho Medical Association Reservations (all prices listed include the room block rate). This room block code will expire on June 12 so be sure to make your reservations as early as possible to ensure the best rate!

Call for Resolutions

We urge you to submit your resolutions to the IMA office as soon as possible to ensure their inclusion in the first web posting of the House of Delegates materials on their posting deadline of June 19. If you need assistance drafting a resolution, please contact IMA staff and we will make every effort to format and finalize these resolutions for inclusion in the first posting.

When drafting resolutions for submission, please give close attention to the following:

  • The title of the resolution should appropriately reflect the action for which it calls.
  • Information contained in the resolution should be checked for accuracy.
  • The “Resolved” clauses should be able to stand alone since the House adopts only the final “Resolved” clauses and the “Whereas” statements do not appear in the final record.
  • Fiscal notes should be added when appropriate and should set forth the estimated cost, if any, of the policy, program, or action proposed by the resolution.

IMA staff can assist sponsors with the development of fiscal information, but requests of this nature should be forwarded in advance of the deadline for submission. We look forward to your participation! Call 208-344-7888 for more information.
